Merci Malraux, 2013
Video, Temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia

The video is filmed by phone in temples of Angkor Watt. The voice off of a Khmer poet recounts
the story about the famous french writer André Malraux. He left for Cambodia. He explored search
of lost Khmer temples, hoping to recover items that might be sold to art museums. On his return, he
was arrested by French colonial authorities for removing few bas-relief from the temple of Bantey Srei.
A.Malraux went to the prison and wrote The Royal Way in 1930.
